The call was urgent…

Shayne called, she sounded serious. This is rare as we’re ussually talking about our kids or something. But she sounded intense. “Is it family day? It is right?”
Family day is the day off Michelle and I take (or at least try to take) every week so we can all go do stuff together as a family. You might have been able to figure that out huh? Anyway, I told Shayne it was indeed family day but I had to come in to the office for an hour to meet Fedex because they were delivering an envelope of the new issue and I didn’t want to miss it. (They look great, by the way, you’ll see soon enough.)
“Well when you’re done there go to the parking lot of the Video-Rama on Lombard in St. John’s.” “Why would I do that?”
Then she said it.
VEGAN WAFFLE SANDWICH WITH MAPLE SPREAD AND GARDEN SAUSAGE.
In a parking lot food cart? In the parking lot of a video store? In St. John’s?
Yep. I hung up and called Michelle and told her to get on her waffle eating outfit cuz it was on.
And off we went to Flavour, quit literally a food cart manned by one guy who offers a vegan waffle sandwich with maple spread and garden sausage. (I just wanted to type that out again cuz it’s fun.)
So good. So. Good. Halfway through our feast Michelle looked at me and said “Why would we ever move away from Portland?”

Wow, that sounds fabulous. We rent movies there all the time, but I would never think to look for vegan food at that waffle stand.
(But just for the record, that’s not in St Johns. There is a Videorama in St Johns and it’s not that one. That place is like 50 blocks west of St Johns.)
